Making a measurable impact
Captura believes transparency and accountability are paramount. That’s why we developed a robust Protocol for monitoring ocean health and quantifying how much carbon is removed through our Direct Ocean Capture process.

MRV is the process of Monitoring, Reporting and Verifying how much CO2 is removed from the atmosphere. It is critical to the environmental integrity of carbon removal projects and the validity of carbon credits they generate.
Equally important is a commitment to monitoring interactions with the environment and ensuring projects have a lasting, positive impact.
Captura is conducting a comprehensive MRV and ocean health program for our Direct Ocean Capture technology. Guided by the foundational protocols in our Carbon Dioxide Removal Pathway, this research is designed to support precise and transparent carbon accounting and ensure our ocean operations are safe for marine ecosystems.
Working with external experts, this ongoing program involves a range of environmental monitoring practices, ocean modeling, and biological impact studies.
Below are links to our Pathway and research updates, and we welcome feedback on an ongoing basis to MRV@capturacorp.com. Captura plans to publish future findings in open-access, peer-reviewed journals.
